ISP Decimator G String Problems

Re: ISP Decimator G String Problems

Yes, if there's still his if it's just the pedal and the amp, then I'd send it back. Was it a used pedal? 'cause I don't think you can get the 1st generation G-String new anymore. You still have many options to try: Boss NS, MXR M195, or TC Electronic Sentry (which have a bunch of options to tweak).

I sent the G String back and bought brand new G String II.

Still have that noise.

Re: ISP Decimator G String Problems

Slight hiss is normal. If you plug guitar into noise gate and then nosie gate into amp input, with nothing else in the signal path, there will be slight hiss if the ISP is a buffered pedal, I'll assume it is. My tc flashback delay in buffer mode plugged straight to amp and nothing else but guitar plugged into it adds some hiss, whether turned on or off. In true bypass mode however it is dead silent when off but still adds a touch of hiss when turned on. Some buffers or more than one buffered pedals in line can add slight hiss in the background.

In short, the previous one was working fine, although if you are using a weak battery in there then that could cause it to be noiser than usual.
