Strats with maple boards and 59's just kill. I stumble on to this years ago and it proves itself yet again tonight. Pulled the Fat 50's to put in another axe and reloaded with a 59 set plus V. Rail middle and yet again it is just everything a strat should be. Even the notch positions quack nicely.

Re: It just always works......

I have a lil 59 in my maple board strat and it sounds great. I'd be curious to hear how different it'd sound with a full size 59.

I'm starting to agree with you on 59's. I'm on a big kick back toward PAFish humbuckers, and have never liked anything in the single coil world outside of vintage spec A5 strat pickups. I love the Custom 5, but in strats, I may be yanking those in favor of 59 tremspaced. I've got two HSS guitars, and I think I'm gonna use the
TB-59 in both, along with Surfers or Fat 50's. I won't be able to go to an HSH till I buy another guard. On my G&L Legacy Deluxe, I'm thinking of using the TB59 with a G&L A5 middle, and JB Jr. I'm really deciding between keeping the C5, or dropping down to a lower output 59. I bought that 50th Ann Seth set, which sound like a direct cross between Seths and 59's, and it's kinda making me re-evaluate things.

GJ, I'd be really curious on your take of a Blues Trembucker. Sounds like a slightly hotter 59 with a nice balance.
