It took a week to the day, but NGD!

It arrived a little out of tune, so I tuned it. Now I just need to float the trem but that's a lot more work, so I'll do that later.

The fret ends are spectacularly smooth, which was the only concern I had after watching a review video.

But that guy got his Kramer from a Black Friday sale, so I'm pretty sure I know what went down (i.e. They didn't care.)

It's also much smaller than I thought it was going to be. Lighter, too. Around 4.5 kg, just under 10 lbs in American.

Sweeet!

I love mine (Purple Passion). The only thing I was'nt too crazy about were the white pup's/rings..ie, the aesthetics. They sounded pretty good though.

And they actually look really nice w/ your red finish :bigthumb:

Anyway I 've now got a Custom 5/59 in it with chrome rings although it's out of commission atm 'cause my soldering sucks..

I am happy Gibson is keeping at least one of their other brands alive. The new Kramers get great reviews, but I haven't had a chance yet to try one.

You need to return it they put the strings on backward. Just kidding that is a sweet axe, love the lipstick red and double creams, very classic.

Wow, yeah, 10lbs is a pretty heavy guitar...are they using solid maple?

The neck is maple, but there's no stripe on the back of the neck. The body is mahogany and has large chunks of wood taken out for the trem and electronics. The weight is definitely in the body.

Interesting. I know mahogany can be heavy but I didn't realize it could be that heavy.

I just weighed mine and it's 3.2 kg ..so I guess that makes it around 7lb's or so..which is pretty average for this sort of guitar.

Anyway, who cares? It's a great sounding & playing guitar (when i had it fixed up nicely :p) and that's what counts :bigthumb:

Which reminds me, I need to get in there and re-solder things one of these days. Right now it cuts out intermittently.

I'll need to look inside it because I know there are some things I want to change around.

Remove the second volume.
Disconnect neck pickup.
Toggle switch -> Kill switch.
Remove the tone pot.
Replace tone pot position with output.

I'm not sure if that last one would be an easy switch.
