It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

From what I remember, the 1984 was made to look like Ed's 1984- and Musicyo did their best to copy the headstock and body shape, as far as looks go. Musicyo also sampled many Framers of that period, and came up with neck dimensions that were close to that period.

Musicyo never had access to EVH's guitar, only EB/MM did- that's why EB/MM got it right.

However, here's what's tricky. Ed's Frankenstrat had many necks with many widths. The Charvel 25,000 replica has a 1 3/4 inch nut width, with a 1 5/8 locking nut- just like Ed's.

Basically, EVH's guitar specs varied all over the place

Maybe I lucked out, but this one is a real gem. Looks great and plays great. It's the only MusicYo Kramer 1984 I've ever played, but I'm glad to have it back :)

Hmm, then are there any differences in specs between the 1984 (Pacer) and the 1985 Baretta (other than the obvious) like neck profile, nut width/string spacing etc?

And congrats on the return of the prodigal axe man :9:
She definitely is a looker :)

Yeah, the body is completely different, different thickness, rosewood fingerboard on the 1985, different pickup *I think* but don't quote me on that, and I believe different body wood as well. Oh, and the 1985 has black hardware too. Yes, there are many differences.

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

Yeah, I knew all that, I was more thinking of the neck profile/radius/width-spacing etc...

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

yeah, i was an am totally in love with that guitar design.
I would have never given it away if it wasnt choppy.

I just cant get along with a body that is thicker than a fender ( unless it is a les paul). and the neck is wider.

Besides that it is a great guitar.

Oh and yes i had the 1984 reissue. Red.

I changed the volume with a CTS pot and rewired it cause it is wired wrong. The way it is wired messes with the tone when you roll it back.
Also i had put a Jb in there and it did make a difference as well.

I really really wish they had made it more to specs. I would have never given her away!
