Quick message to let you know the amp is here...in one piece...& sounds great!
We are getting ready to go to a Christmas lights pageant thing for the kids so I didn't have much time to do anything with it other than set it up & try out the basics.
I'll throw a full report up as soon as I get to play it more!

I haven't realized how sloppy I was since having a Hiwatt until I started playing on the "SWEET" channel.....very touch responsive/sensitive...it will show your flaws & mock you in front of yourother gear!!!
The "BITCH" mode adds just the right amount of gain for a dirty blues or crunchy rhythm....very smooth & nice.
So far, I just ran thru the settings....all knobs are responsive, even the "PRESENCE" (on someamps, I couldn't tell the difference on the hi/lo settings). Set it up semi-clean(1-10):
PRESENCE: 6
BASS: 5
MID: 3
TREBLE: 6
HIGH TREBLE VOLUME: 6
NORMAL VOLUME: 6
VERY VERY LOUD!!!! Running itthru the Weber MASS & they're becoming quick friends.
Running it thru a Marshall 1966A 2x12 with Mojo British Vintage "Greenback" & G12H30 clones. Sounds fantastic with the back off(open-back)...haven't tried closed back yet.
Also, I've only played the Strat thru it. Loves every position...very Tele like with just the bridge p/u & in the "SWEET" mode.
Anyway, great amp but as you can tell, I have a lot more playing to do before giving a better review.
I start my vacation Wednesday & will be off for a few weeks. I'll be sure to put itthru it's paces & hopefully, I'll pick up a mic & get some clips up:bigthumb:
So far, the Edana gets a big 5 out of 5

I'm glad you like it. Which Weber Mass are you using? I recently saw a tip on weber's site saying for 50 watt amp, you should be using a 100 watt mass. Something about 50 watts being the rated RMS, but spikes upwards of 100 watts are common. Seems like a bit of overkill, unless you play on 10 thru the mass all the time.
Runnning an amp on 10 all the time is like driving around town all day with your engine red-lined the entire time! Not something I do.
I've got a G2D Cream Tone coming. I think it's going to like the Edana.
When my shoulder gets better, and whenever my wait list is complete, I'm going to build one for myself.

Scott, I have a 100w Stereo MASS, but this is all I have running thru it...no need for the 20w Fuchs:wink:
The chassis fits inside the headbox perfectly...lots of room for the KTs. The vents were a good idea, but only one is placed directly over a tube & I noticed the box itself was warm where the other tube was. Maybe a good idea for the next one would be putting a vent all the way across. Probably no big deal but you never know.
Hey...I meant to ask: the EL34/KT66 switch....does that lower the plate voltage or what exactly does it do? I assume a rebias is still needed, right???

I put multiple layers of metal foil tape on the underside of the headbox to keep the tolex from getting damaged. To put vents in the top is going to add costs, but after seeing yours, I'm checking into it.
All this does is put a different value resistor into the bias loop. I based the value on a few sets of EL34's and KT66's I have here. The only bias pots, i can find, that allow for adjustment from both sides of the chassis are 10K. That would be a lot better if it was 50K or 100K. I couild go to a different adjustment pot value, but that would force you to pull the chassis whenever you wanted to adjust the bias.
The toggle sitch I used is kocated such that if a particular set of EL34's are outside the bias range, you can go in ans easily put in a different value resistor. Easy access for a tech.
The only other issue is the output impedance will be off with EL34's. The OT has 4 wires coming off it. With KT66, the wires correspond to 32, 16, 8, 4. With EL34', those same wires are 16, 8, 4, 2 ohms. So, you'll need to set the amp to 16 ohms IF you are running EL34's and an 8 ohm cab. Or, if you go to EL34's fulltime, a tech can go in and move the wires on the impedance selector switch. The wire that corresponds to 32ohm-KT66/16ohm-EL34 is cut to proper length and terminated such that it cannot make any contact w/ the chassis and short out.
I'll email you the manual later.

I think it was the Hiwatt I had that had this, but I think the best bet is on the top rear of the box, instead of 2 little vents, route out section & use the same vent screening as on the back, on the top.
Did that make sense???

For the record, it was packed to withstand an elephant. Armotron's amp had taken a drop that never dinged the head, just shearing forces that caused the backplate to crack and the plastic fuseholder to break. It was packed well, with formfitting foam all around, hence the fact the enclosure was not damaged.
6' foot or greater fall on its end would have had the same results had it been packed in an ATA-approved flight case.
I just wanted to clarify.
