It's that time again: gear showing!

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

I know, but I was speaking in general terms. could've elaborated on that a bit more I suppose.
No, you were being specific. So please, elaborate as to why you wouldn't want to share your music with us.

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

indeed, I am no fan of sound clips, simply because it shows an incomplete picture. you hear the pickup as part of a huge signal chain. for a properco.passion, you'd need several clips of the same instrument with several pickups, amps etc etc. I find it a waste of my money and time to invest in recording equipment.

I can't help but point out that for what you spent on ONE of those guitars you'd have a better recording rig than me ... and I have some pretty good stuff. :)

And I think it's a given that a clip of a pickup, or even a guitar, is not a complete picture. Nobody's expecting otherwise. We just want to hear what some of this great stuff sounds like. Musical instruments are for making sounds, so it's only natural for people to be curious about that.

Sorry if this seems pushy, but I love recording (I'm just finishing up an acoustic EP and the band is starting tracking our second album) so I don't really get why anyone would get such nice gear and not ever bother to record with it. Why not just record something to show off your playing, or whatever you want?

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

I may have been too specific but I intended it to explain my feelings about recordings in general. I really, really hate recording. I love to play, I love to play live, but I hate recording. I'm never satisfied and it never comes out the way I want it to. Not just that,I don't want to spend money on something I don't need for myself only to make other people happy and myself miserable ;) so... no, sorry. No clips for now

I hate studio recording so my old band used to do all our demos and stuff live. Long story short just set it up and let it rip 1 shot no one is asking for more. Will be no more difficult than playing to the posters in your bedroom.

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

Can we have some pictures of the Fender/F-type guitars at the end of the rack?

Beautiful collection either way. I think your wishes for the instruments when you pass it a wonderful idea too.

Ok, understood.

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

That's absolutely true. I love how the bobbins cracked over the past years. looks neat :P but it cuts like crazy in the bridge, quacks in the middle and sings in the neck. brazilian RW neck and board, too. strangely enough, my main axe for the past few days. Don't know why.

I'll post pics of the fenders later. I still have to finish one off and rebuild one, so I'd rather post some pics when they're all done.

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

LOL @ PTM.

I pretty much hate quilt tops, but that pink triple pickup trem thingy? I'd PTF. The one with the goofy switches and non matching hardware and the silly mudflap chica inlays.

Re: It's that time again: gear showing!

That guitar used to have chrome tuners but now it's gold because the old ones broke. I don't even see it anymore ;) The switches are in a state of decline: I'm removing them one by one and plugging the holes. but that guitar is a w e s o m e. Need little to nothing else.
