As much as I wanted this guitar and as pretty as it was, I thought I found "my" PRS, but I just kept having second thoughts, so.................I cancled the deal. :( I'm trying to be REAL CHOOSIE and get the PERFECT prs for me. I guess deep down I knew this one wouldnt be it. :( Anyway, I'm gonna keep looking.

Ok, I just posted a few days ago saying I wasnt gonna get a PRS anymore, BUT then this came along. The price tag is $2400. You guys think its worth it?

Gawd-dahum! You could go swimming in that finish!

If the tone's right (to your ears), the neck feels good, and you don't mind the 5-way knob & non-adjustable intonation, go for it.

Is there a way to change the 5-way to a 3-way switch? I wish I could play it before I buy it, but there's no way. I guess if I dont like it after I get(if I get it) I can sell it.:)

Re: I've been given the OK!!

Awesome! Buy it! You know you want it! Yes, you can change the 5 way to a 3 way just like McCartys.

Let us know if you get it!

where is the 5-way, all i spot is 3 knobs....

PRS uses a 5 way rotary so one of those knobs is the pup switch

Re: I've been given the OK!!

Sweet axe.....it's definately worth it if that's what you want. It's one of the most beautiful quilt tops I've ever seen.

Re: I've been given the OK!!

That's definitely one of the better axes I've seen... if I had the cash I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Love that color, what is it?

Re: I've been given the OK!!

I had a CU24 in that same finish. I loved it. I prefer the scraped edge binding over the wrap around finish. I believe that color is called Violin Amber. If so, it's the stain Paul puts on his personal guitar(s).

Usually, that finish uses the wraparound deal, so no binding. It's a personal choice of which you prefer.

The Artist Package is pretty cool. I can't see the headstock, but often, they put upgraded tuning key buttons on it. Plus the anodized gold finish. Very cool. That's a beautiful guitar.

Check the prices of these on my on-line dealers page... http://toneninja.net/PRS.htm

Just as an FYI, and this is not a direct apples to apples comp, but I bought my 2001 CU24 in the violin amber with the 10 top and birds for $1800. The artist package is going to add about 400 bucks to it on a used package. So, for 2400, you're in the ball park.

That is a very pretty guitar.

Also, PRS sells for about 40 bucks or so, a complete drop in "kit" of replacement 3 way and a push/pull tone pot for coil cut. It's an official PRS part and all that. There is a slight mod you'll have to do. The hole where the 5-way rotary is needs to be enlarged a very very slight amount. It's not hard, but you might want your local luthier to do it if you're not confident in not chipping the finish. Key is to go slow and only a bit at a time.

Or, you might totally love the 5-way thing.

Pull the trigger man if you love it. How far away is it? Can you play it? Any 48 hour approval period? (if it's a shop, and they won't give you a 48 hour, don't buy it)

If it's a private seller and no approval period, you can probably break even on ebay if you had to. The 22's are just slightly thinner than the McCarty's. Not much though. Is this one the wide-fat or wide-thin? Probabaly WF.

Re: I've been given the OK!!

Yep, violin amber alright. Here's another shot. Notice the case is the upgraded artist case as well. Very nice package. I think the truss rod cover on those is upgraded as well.

Nice guitar... i prefer the LP style bridges though, the ones with the tailpiece, know what i mean?

Re: I've been given the OK!!

Very nice. Locking tuners, rosewood overlay headstock is very sweet. grain on the back is natural and awesome. I really wish they hadn't painted the back of my whale blue PRS black. But if you get whale blue, you get a black back. Locked in on that one.

You're going to love it.

KH, if you love to palm mute, then a PRS is heaven.
