Ive decided upon a Mesa Dual Recto

Re: Ive decided upon a Mesa Dual Recto

Yeah Jer, the Dual Recto is really not your kinda amp.

Get the JVM instead, it'll do awesome high gain, but with a Marshall flavour. JVM's are great amps.

I like the Satch JVM more than the stock JVM. However, if I had to choose between a Dual Rect 2010 and a JVM, I'd probably go with the Dual Rect.

yeah, but I'd peg you as much more of a Mesa guy than Jer.

Re: Ive decided upon a Mesa Dual Recto

Actually I use Mesa Boogie cabs and I have a Mini Rectifier, but that's it. My amps are almost always in the Marshall vein. I currently own a Goldfinger 90 and an XTC 20th Anniversary. They're both vintage Marshall/modded Marshall flavors. I'm not really a fan specifically of the brand Marshall since they rose all of their prices sky high. I like the JCM800 probably the most but they're asking a disgusting $2399 for them. Marshall has done nothing to improve the quality, features, or reliability of their amps to justify raising prices so much so I said to hell with them! Anyway, I've been down the Mesa Road a few times and found the most enjoyment with the Mark V; however, I find that my Bogners cut through better than the Mesas and when they go into heavy overdrive, they don't compress too much or sound too bassy.
