Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

Hmm.... I'm wondering if that tort is just too much for me.

MKIII Renegade, that vintage style looks great, I wonder if HBs will ruin the look.

Well put it this way----I had to answer this question not long ago. And my answer is posted in this thread.

It depends on what other guitars you have in your collection. For example, do you already have a maple or rosewood board Strat? An HSS or HH Superstrat? This project can be something new, something that stands out....

I bought another Strat right around the time of my Seafoam Green, and it has a maple board. There is definitely a difference.

Unless you want to recreate a classic look, go bold I say. Make it your own.
Otherwise the plain white guard or pups is just very vanilla, safe, and status quo IMO.

You lucky bastard, what a dilemma to have! I'm jealouse!
She'll look great in any of the configs you've mentioned.

I like Regenade's ideas, maybe with modern Hipshot hardware,
parchment trim and RW board.

It will be great anyway you go.

Here's my seafoam green Kramer. This color to me is a Vintage color so if you want humbuckers I'd go with a covered pickup.

I really dig the pearl pickguard on that Kramer. That's a great idea.

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

Period pick guard, single white Invader, single volume knob moved closer to where the switch would be, 70's headstock with rosewood fretboard. Or put more simply a Tom Delonge strat copy. Warmth even offers the offset volume as the "Delonge Vol Position" in their pickguard builder.

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

SUPER-Strat it:

Maple neck reverse headstock
Scallopped from 15 and up

Floyd (Wilkinson and Sperzel locking second option on that if you choke on the Floyd)

Humbucker bridge - JB
Slanted single dual blade neck (tapped)- Hot rails

Volume
5 way switch - Bridge HB, bridge parallel, Bridge HB + neck tapped, neck HB, neck tapped: Place behind volume knob near input jack.

White shell/pearl pick guard

Pinup girl sticker - just one.

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

White pearloid pickguard with maple board could look awesome too!

I recall that ESP has a Ron Wood sig Strat with this combo. Very nice! I must say that I am partial to the large '70s Fender headstock though...

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

White pearl, maple neck, white pickups

Re: Ive got a Seafoam hardtail Strat Body.... what to do?

For the win. I would also go with covered humbuckers. Trust me they pop on a Strat.
