I have been intrigued by them for quite a while. They have all kinds of custom ops on an app on the web site.
I am a Huge fan of the one above. It's my #2 choice for a custom axe - right after a Crossley...

Talk about the coolest thread ever.
As a budding guitar builder, it is really, really inspiring to see you go off the reservation and blaze a trail with these designs.

we are working on both for sure.
and While the majority is mahogany. we do offer Alder, Swamp ash, Korina and Figured maples.
in fact, the guitar in my avatar, is quartersawn Korina done in TV yellow

The first one is kinda looks like explorer that gets "surf'd up",and by that I mean it resembles alot like surfboard curve.

that one was originally called the "Sharq" so yeah, there is an aquatic theme to its design..
and i can't tell you how many times I've heard these designs ... "sexy"
if it truely like them.. then get'em while they are available..
the economy has not been kind to any of us.

an update to this old thread.
I have officially left "J.Backlund Design" guitars as of Feb 10th.
as far as I know, nothing with the name "J.Backlund Design" on the headstock will ever be produced again. so if you got one . it just went up in value.
The corporation of BML inc is still in existence and has done a deal to produce the "Retronix" brand guitars with similar designs in Korea.
they currently have a new Kickstater project running from now until march 15th for the new 100 series .
I am now a completely independent Luthier looking for work LOL.

I have officially left "J.Backlund Design" guitars as of Feb 10th.
as far as I know, nothing with the name "J.Backlund Design" on the headstock will ever be produced again. so if you got one . it just went up in value.

I'm sure you will have no problem finding work. Those older Warriors were incredible! If you have a Les Paul type design, I may just have to splurge. Let us know if you're building entire guitars or just doing repair work.
