i was wondering about a I???? bass jack cassidy had way back ive seen it a few times on the old concerts my dad had around and he suggested if i ever get too bored with my usual experimentation to go that route. extra pickups wont anger me since the bass i have around is at least 10 and no vintage prize. iwondered if anybody had done anything even similar to what he used in the jefferson days. im still in my 20s so oviously im not old enough to remember seeing them live but some of their stuff stuck to me like his basses and the song white rabbit is always a good cover song i thought.

Re: Jack Cassidy Bass???

During the heyday of the Jefferson Airplane Jack Casady used a Guild Starfire semi-hollow bass that was VERY heavily modified by Jack, and later by Alembic during their early days. This is the bass that Jack is most often identified with.

For a photo of Jack with this instrument go to:

In recent years Jack has used a Les Paul semi-hollow bass. A Jack Casady signature version of this instrument is available from Epiphone as a special order.

thanks guys the epiphone model he has ive played a few times. i could have sworn i saw the queens of the stone age using one them as well and thought why didnt i think of that if i tried the gibson hollow that was here for fuzz bass. that way i wouldnt have to dig up the old gibson hollow my dad left at my grandparents out, maybe ill just have them find it since im old enough to take care of it now as opposed to when i was 5
