Jackson JS20 Dinky With A Floyd?

Re: Jackson JS20 Dinky With A Floyd?

you have to calculate the VAT.. which is 17.5 .. or 20% as it is here..

and that makes even a kickass US deal into a total ripoff =/

i could have gotten a charvel predator (same setup as my fusion, only long scale) for 300 shipped, but had to pass cos it added up WAY too much when you calculated international shipping and customs fees.

Re: Jackson JS20 Dinky With A Floyd?

Bottom Line: Retrofitting a JS series Jackson with an Original Floyd or other high end licensed version (Challer, Gotoh, Ibanez Edge....) would literally cost more than the guitar.

The holes from the 2 point trem would need to be plugged and redone w/ floyd posts. THeay are a wierd spacing that I have to this day not found ANY retrofit for, including other less used V-trem types.

The Rout would have to be enlarged. And either the neck would need shimming or the trem would need recessing. The Neck would need to be routed for the Locking nut.

I would honestly recommend looking into one of the European market JS-35 Jacksons if you can´t live w/o a Floyd. If you need assistance in procuring one, I can help there as well.

Or, and this would be an upgrade to every part of the instrument: just bite the bulklet and grab a DK-2 ;)

You could look into the Professional Series, circa mid-90s. Mine has a licensed Floyd, some come with "Jackson" Floyds, I think. Mine plays great. It's not as nice as an Original Floyd, but it works just fine. They're probably running between 2 and 400 bucks on ebay these days. Mine's signed my George Lynch so it's priceless.

I agree with Zerberus, I would save up and get a dk2. JS20's are just dissapointing. I own a dk2 with a seymour duncan tb4 in the bridge and 2 duncan designed single coil pickups, eerie dress swirl finish. That plus a hard shell case for 450 usd + shipping on ebay. I love the sound, stays in tune, and the jackson liscened floyd trem is nice.

Is 205 pounds a good deal on a DK-2? It has some paint chips on back of the body but apart from that it is fine (so the seller says). It also comes with a Jackson hard case. It is nearly half price than what it would have been new!! It is in hot rod flames though, and I would have prefered a solid coloured one, dark metallic red, transparent red etc.
Just wandering, how long do you think it would be until another deal comes around like this?
