These axes that have HB and Stacked humbucker in the middle and neck. Do you ever use the middle pickup alone? How much do you use each of the three pickups? 75% bridge, 20% neck, 5% middle? I'm guessin' that the middle and neck are rhythm pups most of the time.

How do you use the pups on your Jackson or whatever?

I don't have one. I wish I did. I'll trade my JV strat for a Jackson PC1 even up if anyone is interested. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :headbang: :headbang:

On my Charvel model 4:
Bridge: metal rythm
middle: metal leads (er...yeah...)
neck: clean tones, blues

That's the reverse of most players, isn't it? That's more creative than most players. How did you arrive at that style?

Distorted rythm. For cleans, always the neck.
It's a single coil, therefore doesn't have much output anyway. I can't play metal rythmics on it.
The neck pickup is way too 'buttery' for leads I think. The middle pickup lacks output compared to the bridge, but the leads to me are much better. Less buttery, they retain the aggressiveness but gain a certain degree of smoothness to them.

Phil Collen rules, I saw Def Leppard a week or 2 ago and they kicked ass.

It's actually the standard when you have lots of distortion.

I never use the middle pup alone.

Phil plays with distortion but not what I would call lots of distortion. And was guessing that the middle pup wouldn't really get much use. But, I'm sure that there are tons of metal guys who use lots of distortion with their Jacksons, Charvels and ESP's.
