We need to balance out all that ESP stuff. Since you want a RR, here's one that's more metal than any of those ESPs. :laugh2:

Hey, thanks for the links! You know, I see what you mean about the Eerie Dess Swirl being tacky. The only one I've seen so far that I liked was the one on the RR1 that was $1800. I saw the one you linked for me like three minutes after it was listed. You know what threw me a little? It's a 97 and I like that new KV2 better than the 97 RR1. The salesman said (of course, he's just a salesman) that they've been playing just a tad better since Fender bought them.

I'll follow that one for a penny though. If I could score that for around 8 bills or so, I'd buy. I love black guitars and I'd change out the pickups to something that would do that guitar right as far as sound. I was wondering why the JB was chosen as the stock bridge on that guitar anyway.

Oh bull****. The '97 was probably just set up by a tech that knew what he was doing. Stupid salesmen. I had a 2000 KV2 Korina that kicked ass and is the sole reason I wanted another after having to sell it to get my Bich last year. USA Jacksons play great. But that JB in the bridge... barf. I have a distortion in my KV2 now. Sounds great. The KV2 had two JBs when i got it. Horrible sound. Blech

So you're in jersey huh? Did you go to the Guitar Center in East Brunswick or new brunswick or where ever?

No, the one in Totowa, which is near Wayne, maybe half hour from Newark.

The 97 wasn't bad--it was actually incredible. It's just that the 05 KV2 had a small edge over it. I did attribute that to possible setup, different neck etc, but these guys deal with them on a regular basis and I don't so I had no basis to tell him to pack sand, LOL. He also said it's an 8 month wait if I bought one new which I think he knew I wasn't going to do. That I'd never do. I'm a "want it right away" kinda guy.

Re: Jackson RR1--is it worth it?

It's probably the neck. I think the RR1 has a standard neck on it. The KV2 has a speed neck. The 8 month wait is one reason to back away from a new one the other is the $4000 price tag for a ordering it "custom" meaning you asked for it! bah. ebay baby

You're kidding right?

James is heavy..but that guitar looks like something I can get in the GI Joe section of Toys R Us with those graphics & inlays.

As much as I love paulas, James needs to stick with Explorers and Vs

And not trying to really further the "burn" but...

"truckster" ?:eek13:

Thats not terribly "metal" sounding, either I'm afraid...

I always think of Chevy Chase in Vacation coming home with the "Family Truckster with the optional rally fun pack"

far....FARRRrrrrrrr from Metal

:chairfall

Re: Jackson RR1--is it worth it?

The only reason I posted the MII's was that incase 75lespaul would go for the hanneman ESP, there are other guitars as good for less money.

I stuck a bid on the one with the white EMGs. It's low, and I'll prol get outbid, but wtf. If I win, great. If not, the search continues.

Just wait 'til the auction is close to ended and snipe it!

I have to agree on the PU choice, the JB is IMO a real mismatch, the Custom or Distortion sound 1000X better ;)

Though I´ve never had balance issues on neckthru kellies before... the bolt-ons dive like Louganis, but the neckthrus hang just as well as any other Jackson IMO, just at a slightly different angle...

You believe the JB is a real mismatch for the rr1, but the Distortion sounds 1000x better :eek13: ...that's definitely got to be an opinion.

I WILL NOT play mine 'cause I stuck a TB6 in it and until I get the Custom Custom installed--I ain't playin' it.

You know it....I mean...if that other pedal did do that, 13 year old kids that don't now better would get out bid on a mesa F-50 head then 2 weeks later end up buying the same head.....wait a minute......:laugh2:

:hint:

That's pretty much what this board is all about..

:endhint:

That said I've never heard one in a neck through Jackson, But I believe from my experience with the DD it *would* sound better than the JB in that guitar..but that's relatively speaking. I think a CC or Custom would be the best choice in higher output..

Those guitars need something to warm and fatten them up..Hell I bet a Seth would sound really good in one.
