Jackson "Speed Neck" Jackson Adrian Smith SDX

So one of my favorite neck profiles is on the Jackson Adrian Smith ADX. I love the feel of the neck except for the Compound Radius Fretboard.

Anyone know of a company that offers this profile with a straight radius (preferably 9.5?) I've reached out to Jackson, Warmoth and Muskraft but haven't heard back.

Thanks!

EDIT:

Update from Jackson: "The dimensions are: 3rd Fret: .775”, 12th Fret: .835”"

Update from Musikraft: "Hi, its a custom profile for us, its .76 at the first and .83 at the 12th. If you want us to do it it would run you another $80 on top of the price of the neck. Thanks"

Update from Warmoth: "Unfortunately we are not available to accommodate alternate neck profiles beyond the ones that you find on our Guitar Neck Profiles page."

Conclusion: If you love the Jackson Adrian Smith SDX neck contour/profile but want different dimensions then Musikraft is your source. Ask for a custom profile for .76 at the first fret, .775 at the 3rd fret and .835 at the 12th fret.

Never played one, but given it's a Jackson SoCal, it can't be too thin.

Wizard is definitely too thin.

Is the Smith a custom contour,or standard Charvel thingie?

Glad you found one, tho, does Musicraft do scallops?
:p

Re: Jackson "Speed Neck" Jackson Adrian Smith SDX

If I'm reading it right, he's asking about the fretboard radius, and not the back shape. Looks like everyone missed that, including Warmoth and Musikraft

I think Warmoth offers the 9.5" radius, but I'm not sure what profile options they offer along with it. Probably just the traditional Fender - hard/soft V, C, and D. Maybe boatneck, so long as the nut width is at least 1 3/4"?

I think he's looking for a neck with the same back contour, but with a straight 9.5" radius fretboard instead of the compound radius that the original has.
I think the neck profile is similar to Charvel necks, but it's been years since I played a Charvel. It's definitely thinner than a modern C Fender, but not as thin as an Ibanez Wizard

It is custom, Jackson told me this: "The dimensions are: 3rd Fret: .775”, 12th Fret: .835”" and Muskraft said they could do ".76 at the first and .83 at the 12th"

I really love Warmoth but I prefer the Adrian Smith contour over the Standard thin...so Musikraft it is for the necks from now on! :) I've had both Warmoth and Muskraft, both are top notch!

EDIT: Not 100% sure, but I don't think they offer scalloping on the website; HOWEVER, just ask them, they have always been most helpful to me

You got it! ;)

Yeah, its not Wizard thin, very similar to the Pro Mod.

Sorry for the confusion–I was talking about the back shape/contour. :) Reason being, Jackson doesn't make custom necks/parts for individual sale so I wanted to know the dimensions to take to Warmoth/Musikraft.

Glad you found someone who'd do it for you. Funnily enough, one of my favorite neck shapes is the Dave Murray '57 Strat neck... I would have paid my favorite local custom builder to build me a strat with that neck had I known he would stop taking custom orders altogether.

Thanks! I'm glad too! Got a couple of projects in my mind but definitely going to get one of those necks this year!

Sorry your local guy quit doing to custom orders!

Yeah.... Thankfully, he still makes outstanding production guitars, so I'm still happy
