Jackson Warrior Discussion

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

I really want to see someone playing one standing up. I'm curious if it will look closer to a Kelly or a V or neither (proportionally I mean) when it's hanging on a person.

If that makes sense.:laugh2:

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

look online for pictures of "metal mike chlasciak", he uses warriors, among other jacksons (played for halford, testament, sebastian bach, etc.)

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

I'm pretty sure that Trey Azagthoth from Morbid Angel uses a Warrior.

I like Jacksons and the finishes I've seen for this body shape are pretty cool, but it's definitely not a shape for me. The Warrior and the Kelly are both two Jackson bodies that just aren't appealling to me.

Oh man I love this guitar...I wanted to get this one a guy in town was selling, but I couldnt afford it....so I told my friend and he jumped on the deal instead :P At least I get to play it every now & then hehe

I feel very comfortable playing them even though they look pointy. The neck kind of sits forward a bit like my kelly, which I like. People who are used to strat shaped guitars usuall find it a bit wierd to play at first.

I feel there's a lack of info and GAS enhancers/suppressors:laugh2: on the net for this Jackson, so I thought we could try and pool some knowledge about these guitars in one place.

Any successful musicians/bands play one? It's the one shape that I never see anyone use.

Jim Root of Slipknot

Also, does anyone on here have a Warrior? If so how do you like the shape in general and when compared to Jackson's other guitars?

No, but I´ve played a few dozen..... comfy and well balanced, jusdt not for me.

Is the quality of the WR1 as good as Jackson's other USA models considering it seems to be the least popular shape?

Is this question to be taken seriously?

If yes: Of course not, it´s built by the same people on the same machines using exactly the same methods as a Custom Jackson or other USA select... so obviously it´s a dog in comparison :eek13: :laugh2:

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

Just tryin' to think of some questions that will extend the discussion Zerb. And since you've posted, I know my plan succeeded.:)

Nah, the warthog is the cooler graphic of the two. Either way, they're both killer guitars, stumpy or regular.

OMFG. I never cared much for the warrior bodystyle, but my Gawd, I loved both of those graphics. That bodystyle just screams out for an aggressive graphic. I've always had a Jones for an ESP Kamikaze, but I'm thinking I'd take that flying tiger graphic instead.

Does anyone know, does Dan Lawrence use airbrush, brush, or a combination? I would love to try my hand at airbrushing. Never tried it... could be that I'm red-green color blind, though.

airbrush FAIK

the warrior is THE guitar for a bomber/tank graphic

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

One of the dudes in Death Angel uses a Warrior I think.

scratch that - I just checked their site, and it looks to be a unique design.

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

The Death Angel is by far one of the strangest shapes ever, it looks like you mixed a Warrior, Kelly and ESP Viper together lol.

I hate to say it, but thats really not bad. The styling struck me more as being influenced by a Classic 50's auto moreso than a weapon. I could own one of these . . . as long as no one I knew saw me with it. ;)

Re: Jackson Warrior Discussion

the warrior looks weird. its like an anerexic(spelling?) person thats missin his/her legs.
