Jaguars And Jazzmasters

When it comes to body size, how do the two compare to each other? Are they exactly the same except for the neck pocket size, or is the Jaguar a scaled down version of the Jazzmaster?

Re: Jaguars And Jazzmasters

well, I would think if it's a short scale guitar, the bridge position would be somewhat different - in other words, the scale length is not just the length of the neck, but the overall length from nut to bridge

Re: Jaguars And Jazzmasters

Isn't the Jagmaster the neck of one, with the body of the other? And wouldn't that mean they're interchangeable?

Edit: And I just realized, that doesn't address the original question. :smack:

Re: Jaguars And Jazzmasters

my questions were partly rhetorical ...

from Warmoth's site:
jaguar body:

This is the little brother to the Jazzmaster. The basic body shape is nearly the same, only some minor proportion changes in the neck pocket area. The scale length however is only 24", great for players with small hands. Neck pocket is angled to function properly with the vintage bridge.

An accurate reproduction of the original Fender Jaguar body shape.
