JamUp and other modellers

I live in a dorm, and my roommate doesn't exactly appreciate me playing through my Randall half stack, so I needed to find another way to play. I found some videos on the Positive Grid YouTube channel and decided to download JamUp on my iPad (Bias seemed to complicated for me). I didn't really expect too much out of it, but it really is killer. I nailed the Black Album rhythm tone in the first ten or fifteen minutes and I've downloaded some more presets.

Anyone else use JamUp or similar modelling software, and what are your thoughts? Would I be able to play live with it as well?

I love jam up. I love bias too but be prepared to mess around a lot if you get it. Yes you can play it live. I used to do that last year. I'm back to using my amps again now. I prefer being able to control my volume more. I wouldn't hasitate to take my iPad to a fast gig or if I was lazy. In this video I'm playing the USA Dean through my iPad. I finally got an ipad and I picked up iRig2 to use with it.

I dropped on the free Amplitube and Garageband, super easy to get some real good sounds for practicing and putting some thoughts down.

Jamup is great. I yhink it is the best sounding of all of them when used with a digital input.

If you just have one of the cheap analog interfaces that connect through the heaphone jack, Ampkit is even better. Ampkit is not as realistic/tubey, however the noise suppression and autolevels are the best of all the modlers when used with a noisy analog input
