Japanese foto flame strat

Re: Japanese foto flame strat

It might just be the finish that discolored, not the photo part.

Re: Japanese foto flame strat

As much as I am a Start guy (and a fan boy) , no I would not do the trade. I would consider if it were possible to keep both guitars for a while and then see which works better for me and then sell of the one that does not. A LP studio is nice guitar, without any frills ( if you get what I mean). That strat looks very nice, but pickups can always be changed.

Re: Japanese foto flame strat

Les paul studio is 2004, full gloss. One blemish, clear coat on the back of the headstock chipped off, size of half a dime.
What would you put the value of the strat at?

It is loads easier for me to say "get the strat", it is GORGEOUS
but that's a personal decision that you gotta be comfortable with
Seems like a comparable trade

Re: Japanese foto flame strat

I did my research online a bit, and just looked at various prices, and told the man that I see them consistently selling for around the 500$ mark, and that the pickups wouldn't do much for me because I'd change them anyways. So I said I would not be able to do a straight trade. Thanks for the input everyone, it's nice to hear what others have to say and think!

Re: Japanese foto flame strat

I don't think the other party was ever interested in a "fair trade", they can look up sold prices just as easily as everyone else.
