Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

Just wondering if anyone here owns or has any experience with Jarret Guitars ? I read a review about the Zaffiro model in Premier Guitar Magazine a couple of days ago, (5 star rating) !!! I have requested a price on the Forza model with SD's installed. These are handmade guitars from the USA, at an import price point. I would like to get some input from the crew here....

You can get one under $1,100. I would think even an import with the same features would cost at least $900. Jarrett also allows you to select your pups, tuners, bridges, etc. I apologize, I didn't mean to be misleading in any way, I was just so excited when I discovered these guitars, I wanted to share with everyone out here. I cant see Jarrett maintaining their current prices very long.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

That price is for their Platinum Series, The players series begin at $1,049. Those offer your choice of electronics and hardware, they also have a 5 way switch that they will wire to your specs. You should e mail them, Jack replies quickly.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

Hey Guys. I am one of 2 Partners at Jarrett. Yes, our prices are that low due to the direct sales model ala Carvin. The mark-up at a Music Store is 100% from what we sell it for. We may not sell as many by going direct but we are selling the guitars at a lower price point. The average Players Series guitar we sell goes for $1,250 which depends on the pickups, bridges, piezo, tuners and electronics a buyer picks. Our Custom Models start at $1,799 for one that we have built before. We are raising that price to $2,300 very soon due to the demand and the need for new equipment to keep up with the orders. If someone sends us a hand drawn plan of a "dream guitar" then the cost does go up as we have to create new templates. Even then, our most expensive guitars with major exotic woods and finishes max out at $3,800 and that is a completely hand-built custom custom custom guitar. Hope this helps.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

$ 2,300 is still a great price for what you are offering.
However, you should wait until I get mine : )

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

I have to say that neither of those body shapes does it for me. On that one page it says that 6 different shapes are offered but only 2 are pictured. It's kind of hard to judge without more pictures.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

Regarding 6 designs, we will be updating the pictures this week. Keep checking back on the Platinum Page. All kinds of cool things going on including a set neck strat type guitar that sustains all day long. http://jarrettguitars.com/home/platinum is the page where the 6 styles will show up over the next week.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

i have to say...that redwood topped double cut is a phenomenal looking guitar.

One of the two partners there, Jack, has a brother who is blind. Made me feel much more comfrtable in discussing a build with him since I am blind myself. I have been somewhat worried that some builders may feel they do not need to worry about aesthetics with me since I am blind, but I feel I have no worry with this possibility. I am torn between building a super strat or revampled PRS style guitar though. I would like an HSS with a 25.5 inch scale neck with an Andy Timmons setup of pickups and then again a shorter scale with H/S/H as well for my more bluesy side. FML my diversity in playing.

How do you type so well when you are blind?

Speech-to-text synthesis isn't that good.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

Actually, it is that good. I do not use the features microsoft includes with Windows Vista. I use a different stand alone software program called JAWS. I also touch type, just like any sighted or non sighted person can do.

I had to post this after I checked the site again:

That is a beautiful guitar. I'd consider buying something like that.

This one looks interesting... semihollow or hollow with holes along the sides? I wonder how that sounds.

Well I learned something just now. Thanks!

The guitars are really cool as well. I like the designs - especially the single cut.

Re: Jarrett Gas, anyone else ?

It's official, I am having Jarrett build me a guitar, here are the specs folks...

Strat style with set neck

Neck:
3 piece maple
brazilian rosewood fretboard
22 jumbo frets
custom inlays, imagine something that looks like 2 arches joined at one point.

body
mahogany body
quilted maple top
body contours
Wilkinson VSG trem
HSS with Dimarzio Cruisers in neck and middle and either a Dimarzio Steve M. in the bridge or Breed. all in white and the bucker in zebra.
2 volume and 1 tone control, in a triangular lay out pushed to lower right face of guitar body far from bridge.
5 way switch

I am going to have all of the hardware in chrome, and oh yeah, spirzel locking tuners.

Here is the finish it will also be in:

I am also going to have the neck done with some sexy maple binding on the fretboard, to giv that cool outline look like on Gibbys.

I'm pumped.

$2,500 and it is expected to be done in roughly 60 days.
