Jazz A2P and Slash

So I get that the Jazz and the A2P are the same pickups different magnets. Is the Slash an overwound A2P Jazz? If So the bridge with a magnet swap to A5 seems to be a good match for a Jazz neck.

Re: Jazz A2P and Slash

The Slash with Alnico 5 is a good sounding pickup but it's not equivalent to anything else in the line. It would match well with a Jazz neck though.

Is it true I can order a nickel Jazz bridge from the production floor through my dealer and get the long legs? I already know I can get single conductor because I just did for my neck pickup.

Yeah, as Pepe says, you can order it like that. Now I am curious: I have to try a Slash with an A5.

Re: Jazz A2P and Slash

I think that is what Im gonna use is the Slash. I just talked to my dealer and the price to order a Jazz bridge with single conductor nickel long legs is more than a Slash bridge. I have a new A5 out of a 59 and a new cover right here.

Re: Jazz A2P and Slash

Besides the 8.9k is a nice bridge wind. I have the option of the Alnico 2 or the Alnico 5 in the set so really a cool set up if you think about it. I just think the Jazz goes with the Slash bridge much better. The Slash neck was a tad to much for me.

Re: Jazz A2P and Slash

I have a Jazz neck paired with an Alnico II Pro (APH1b) in the bridge on my SG Special. It's a killer combo. I'm considering the APH1 set for my '73 Standard now.
