Jazz PUP Construction?

What is it that makes the Jazz so clean and articulate? The construction, magnet and ohmage are very close to a standard PAF. Yet, it sounds quite different. Any thoughts?

many little things. the way the wire is laid down has a lot to do with it

Doesn't the Jazz use a different wire type than the wire traditionally used with PAF pickups?
