Davey
Goliath of Tone
ok.. my back hurts cos of being hunched over my axe for the last hour and a half
mkay..
took out the actives from my fusion (tim.. how the **** did that dude get the neck SC in.. with a sledgehammer? i ****ing chipped a bit of the gloss finish trying to get it out >.< ) .. unsoldered it all and did the same to the SG.
put the JB into the mount ring, put it in (had to cut a bit of the ears off to get it to fit) and found out i put the mount ring on backwards :smack:
after a short out & in, i took the schematic that's on the duncan site for 1 hum, 1vol, 1 tone (which is wrong btw, cos both pots work as a volume pot now LOL)
retuned by ear and made a test run on very low volume
1st impresion:
this pup was MADE for this guitar it seems. tim, you thought pinch harmonics were easy with the reflexs' ? HAHA, i was in for a treat. harmonics literaly fly off the fretboard like the axe never did anything else. the solo tone is schaweeeeet. the riffing i dunno yet cos it was a bit silent.
i'll put it through a real test run tomorrow.
it's amazing how a simple pup change can make the whole guitar feel diferent. and in this case, for the better. the high e pole piece dont perfectly align with the string, but that pup is staying there. the neck is reserved for a hotrail.
here's a pic of it (i put half of an ibanez PoS in the neck just for kicks to see how it's gonna look with a pup in there)
