Hello,
I have a Carvin DC127M, which is all-mahogany (but bright-sounding) and has neck-thru construction, passive electronics, ebony fingerboard, Sperzel locking tuners, graphite nut, and a tune-o-matic bridge w/ strings-thru-body. It's an excellent guitar, but I'm not satisified with Carvin's stock M22 model pups.
I was considering replacing them with the Duncan JB (bridge) and Jazz (neck) setup and had a few questions...
- How would these humbuckers sound in mahogany (particularly the JB)? Would the mahogany take away any definition or articulation?
- Can the JB handle pretty heavy stuff? I know Mustaine uses the JB, and I enjoy playing Megadeth-style metal, but I'm also into old death metal (Death, Venom, Possessed, etc.)
Thanks! :headbang:
