JB with hex pole pieces?

normal screws or hex? the double screws is a cool sound, a little softer attack

Yes double rows of adjustable screws is what I was asking about. How do you think one your of hex and one row of adjustable screws would sound? Thank you by the way.

I'm asking specifically about using two rows of hex pieces with the JB8. Sorry should have specified that before.bi don't know how to take a pickup apart of do magnet swaps so I'm going to have the custom shop make me a JB with the A8 just wandering about adding double rows of hex pieces.

Time to learn! It isn't difficult. Once you do - a whole world of mag swap options open up.

No need to take it apart. Very simple procedure. Great threads on here about how.

Agree. You could put an A8 and one row of hexes in a cheap, easy-to-find JB and you'd have 95% of the answer without paying the custom shop $160 and waiting.

Well, that's the Screamin' Demon. Trying to imagine it seriously overwound with an A8. It might sound like a JB on steroids with the same amount of attack as a regular JB.

Demon screws is a fantastic sound. I usually use it in the neck for a little extra click and then double filister in the bridge.

My suggestion is to just mag-swap a jb first. That might take you exactly where you want right there.
Alt-8 with double fillisters and black logo would be my pick if I were just wanting to try something new and different.

I have heard an A8 powered JB with normal slug/screws and loved the way it sounded, no complaints I just figure if I'm going to pay custom shop price(which I am)I want to tweak it a little bit if possible. I'm either either going to go with double hex or one row hex one row screws like the screamin demon. What do you guys think the effect it will have on the sound would be with the two combinations? Appreciated.

OK - Tell you what...I'll do a JB8 with a SINGLE row of hex for $120 and have it for you in a week!

I would let the Custom Shop know what direction you are going, and ask to suggest the right configuration.
