Ok...I got things narrowed down to either JBjr/CoolRail/CoolRail (bridge, middle, neck) or HotRail/CoolRail/CoolRail. I'm putting these into a 50th Anniversary Strat, which has an Ash body. From my understanding, Ash is very bright and so is the JBjr., so I'm leaning toward the Hot Rail, but what do you guys think?

I love my Hot Rails, it's really bassy and middy and thick-sounding, perfect for distortion or just hard rockin..........it'd look awesome to have three rails. I'd change one of those Cools to a Vintage tho.

I thought about that but maybe you could explain to me why people do the Hot Rail/Vintage Rail/Cool Combo. I don't have any experience with seymour duncans but logically wouldn't you want to pair a Cool Rail with a Hot Rail, meaning a Hot Rail in the bridge and Cool Rail in the middle? The Vintage and Hot are pretty much opposites right, so why would you want to have them together in the 4th (I think it's 4th anyway) position? Wouldn't a Cool Rail and a Hot Rail together give a better sound than a Vintage Rail and a Hot Rail?
If you go Vintage in the neck, Cool in the middle, and Hot in the bridge, that just makes sense to me. Now I'm probably wrong but I just don't get why you would put a Vintage in the middle or put any strat-like pickup in the middle of two beefier ones. Regular strats are set up from neck to bridge as low, medium, high, or in other words, like lightest output, medium output, heaviest output (I don't know the exact terminology but you know what I mean).

You would have something ike a S-H-H Combo, which is unusual.
Or did you ever saw a strat with Single-Coil neck and Humbuckers middle & Bridge?
Either Humbuckers neck & bridge and single-Coil middle.
Coolrails and hotrails are Humbucker sounding, and vintage rails is just a vintage single-Coil without hum.
And for pos. 2 & 4, simply SPLIT the Humbuckers.
What you mean is a mtached set of Single-Coils, which have the same tone and need to be a bit louder from neck to bridge position.
Here you have 3 different sounding pickups.
Of course you could also put coolrails in neck & middle, and hotrails bridge.

I would go with a Hot Rails in the bridge, Vintage Rails in the mid and Cool Rails in the neck, with the pickups split in the 2 & 4 positions. I think that combo would give you the ultimate in versatility. But, that's just one man's opinion.

I'm joking... Anyway, be sure to keep all the original pieces it you want to resale it for a high price in a few years. Otherwise it'll be like any other guitar.

Well, it's not a deluxe and unfortunately I don't have the money to buy another guitar. Of course my buddy was going to do the pickup installation and get a discount on the duncans for me because he works at Sam Ash. He said he would do this in exchange for the pickups on the Strat. Now you got me thinking against that, hrmmm
