Had a 1x12 combo with matching 1x12 cab and really enjoyed the tones after tweaking the tubes a bit. It had great cleans, nice reverb once I changed out the 12ax7 in V3 to a 12at7(lower gain). Good quality tubes go a long way to making this thing sing. The gain channel was decent, very vintage not over the top gain like a DSL. Speaker selection is another thing to take into account. The stock Celestion Heritage speakers in the combo basically sucked, but with a set of V30's pure 70's tone. It's a good amp, but it does have some down spots. It still can have over heating problems, but they can be remedied fairly cheaply. PM Jeff Seal about the upgrades to fix the heating problem. Other than that it's a freaking loud 60 watt Marshall tube amp. There are better ones out there, but for the money it's a good amp.

I've had the jcm600 head for about 3 years now. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it, and its never proved unreliable. I've heard, via hearsay, that some of the parts are hard to reach and service, but my amp tech laughed at that comment when I repeated it to him and said "no big deal". So I'm not particularly worried about that aspect of it. If and when it ever needs repair, I'm sure a trained pro can deal with it. But so far its been rock solid and that's all I can ask.
I once left it on overnight, and it was super hot in the morning, but there was no negative effects from this, nor have I ever experienced overheating during normal use.
How good is your deal? for price reference, I paid 400 for it (and spent another 25 for a footswitch), and the serial number dates it around 97 production.
The overdrive channel does exactly what you'd expect from a Marshall, and its mighty loud. Really nails an Allman's sound for me with the gain just about 2'oclock. Knowing that this is "only" 60W, I can't imagine ever needing a 100W alternative. Keeps up with my partner's Twin Reverb no problemo.
But what really got me smitten was the clean channel. Much fuller and user-friendly than other Marshalls I've played. I believe that was one of the original design goals when they created this amp. You can get really nice clean tones, and can easily reach excellent crunch when you want it, just by controlling your playing dynamics. So much so, that I play about 70% on the clean channel, and only about 30% on the overdrive channel. We have a very loud drummer, and I can easily cut right through his cymbal swarm when needed.
If I had one complaint, is that the clean channel doesn't have as much juice, relative to the dirty channel. To compensate for the difference in volumes when switching between the two channels, I'll usually have the clean volume on 9 or 10, while in order to stay in the same volume region, the dirty channel is on 3 or 4 , (with gain adjusted to taste).
I wish I had clips for you, but that's not my forte. sorry. but at least consider this post as a thumbs up for your purchase.
