Did you build it from the master volume kit? Is it a jcm replica or the earlier jmp? Or is it the same circuit?
Yes, It was the MV kit. It's based on the 2204 circuit that I believe is the same from the JMP to the JCM. The JCM did get some revisions in the mid 80's.

(Laney used Skot transformers) I built my own Marshall JCM800 clone using a Metro board.www.metroamp.com Cost me just under $600 to build it myself,Thats Including a Custom made chassis and head box.:D

Nice price, where did you get the transformers, chassis, and box? I'm interested in the 50W MV boards he has.

The tranny's came from Antique Electronics. I sourced other parts from Weber
and Hoffman amps. The chassis was custom made to my specs by a guy in TX.
(I don't have his contact info now, If you need it? PM me and I'll find it.) The box is where I really saved $$. My Father built it for me. He's no Swanson, But he did a decent job.:D

Nice job, if I build one it'll probably have a more traditional Marshall look but, yep, a nice box does cost...

Thanks, if I get that far I may drop you a line. It may be a winter project, too much mtn biking to do while the sun is out!
