Jekyll and Hyde Pedals : The Hyde Side

Before I talk about the pedal.. I'd like to say - I saw a version of Jekyll and Hyde on TV the other day, it was a stage production/musical of it. The horrifying part - "The Hoff" was playing the lead role... :eek13:

I tried one of these pedals today with an American tele and a Gibson Les Paul through a Blues Junior. The Jeckyll side was pretty cool, had the TS808 thing going on, however for some odd reason I could never get into tubescreamers.

The Hyde Side on the other side.. wow.. it was the most.. creamy end of the world distortion I've ever heard, especially through the tele. It was just everything I would want in a distortion pedal, oddly enough. So does anyone know exactly what the Hyde side is a clone of, or something that would get me rather close?

I'm pretty sure it's a ProCo Rat clone. It can sound great through the right guitar/amp combo, but it can sound terrible through the wrong one! Have you been able to get any useable sounds with both sides of the pedal switched on?

It is similar to a Boss DS1 or Rat depending if you have the switch hit or not to scoop it.

I love the pedal as a whole and basically does everythign except muff for me like I'd want.

I push mine into my Plexitone prototype, then into my TSL 601 and I can cover pretty much all my overdrive/distortion needs. I don't use the Hyde side as often, unless I'm wanting a stupid amount of gain!
