Jerry Donahue Bridge vs. Lollar Special T

I have a Player series Tele. I installed a Seth Lover in the neck and need something to match up with it in the bridge (single coil). These are the two I've narrowed it down to. Put in the Seth for more of a jazz tone and want the same for the bridge. In this case I'm not necessarily looking for a traditional tele twang but rather that jazzier tone and a good match volume wise for the bridge.

Thoughts?

If you don’t want the Tele twang, I’d suggest a single coil size humbucker like the Little ‘59. That has a warm smooth tone.

What about a Lollar Charlie Christian Bridge? It's got less of a midrange emphasis than a P90, yet it sounds thicker and smoother than a traditional single coil. I think you would like it.

The Special T to me seems like it was designed around being a more muscular Tele tone, and I've heard some people describe pretty similar to how I described the Charlie Christian, but I've never tried it myself.

The JD is also in the overwound Tele range, but I find it to be much more present, often times walking the line of being too bright when the tone control is wide open. It's definitely thick for sure, but it has a bit more twang to it than other overwound Tele pickups.

The Seth/JD combo is my favorite in a Tele. It is a great balance, and everything I like in a Tele, and nothing I don't.

Thought about the CC but when I asked the Lollar folks they said it's basically a neck pickup but they would wind one to use in the bridge.

I think it seems that my safest bet is the JD. Right price too. Think I'll start there.

My first thought is that you really can't go far wrong with a Seth/JD combo.

Well, since I started putting this question out there, your answer and a bunch just like to have dominated. JD, Here I come!
