I saw that the other day. The first thing I thought of was Wattage.

You never make any ****ing sense.

That guitar looks sweet tho -- most of the best rock-n-roll tones came from Gibsons with hot A2 humbuckers in 'em. What's with Gibson and killswitches tho? I've never known anybody who uses a killswitch.

The killswitch was a very "punk rock" mod back then. It might be academic for a two pickup/four knob Gibson to have one (just roll back the vol pot on the never used neck pickup). On a single pickup guitar, it makes total sense. It adds the killswitch cutout while playing, and more importantly, cuts the feedback between tunes.

Word. I just turn my volume knob down but whatever, i'm not Joan Jett :smokin:

Re: Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker

Two words: BAD @SS. I want that thing, or at the very least, I hope they make a cheapy Epiphone model so I can buy one and modify the eff out of it!

Re: Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker

i was thinking about this guitar while I was playing my SG-X earlier today. basically the same instrument when it all comes down to it...

When you think about me I touch myself:D

It's got a very thin neck from what I have heard but it is very cool. I love JJ so it would be a fun axe to have, right now I am having off the chrts GAS for a Goldtop so I'd have to take a pass.

Here's a pic of mine!

I normally stay away from “Signature” models and I’m not really a big Joan Jett fan. But the guitar was everything I was looking for in a guitar.

I was really surprised by how well it plays.

The action on it is great, it’s really light, neck is fast and it sounds awesome, really good sustain for a lightweight guitar. I changed the Gibson Burstbucker 3 Zebra out for a Seymour Duncan Distortion SH-6b & the witch hat knobs for standard Gibson knobs.

Other than the minor tweaks it’s the perfect guitar for me. I wish we had more simple high quality Gibson lightweight guitars to choose from.

Re: Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker

Cool, I played one and liked it but it wasn't for me. I do love singlecut MM's though.

I thought that the Humbucker, Nickel/Silver Alloy Frets, Ebony Fingerboard, Tune-O-Matic Bridge w/ Stop Bar Tailpiece, Grover Tuners and the hard case was worth the extra $250

The JJ Guitar is a great deal at under $800

A gibson under a grand that isnt utter strippage?? I figured these would be minimum 1200.

musicians friend has a pic of JJ and Les each holding one.. Go figure...?

I cant stop having nightmare of a $5399 zakk wylde ZV pinchbug chasing me around...... and Im trying to beat it down with a $7699 johnny winter firebird...

uh-oh....did I start something?:wall:hehe. I love my gold top, I still cringe when I think back of my first Les Paul. Mid 70s I bought a gold top, creme P90s and a stop tail. Looked real old but played well. Paid 500 bucks, big money back then but I wanted a LP bad. Did'nt realize P90s would have some noise and my amp was'nt the greatest. Figured I should look for a 'newer' one...Took it to a guitar shop and they traded me a '70 black LP Custom for it. I was happy and I think they were happier. Oh well. The JJ is a kool axe, dig the white...is'nt her guitar from the Rasberry dude? Kool rig Wonker...dig that strap too.

Re: Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker

Kool rig Wonker...dig that strap too.

The strap was a free door prize...

It’s a pink fuzzy leopard print nightmare. I didn’t have a spare strap at the time of the picture. I only used it for a few days till I found a nice black leather one.

Now that Amp Head is a story…

It’s Prototype Randell BMF Guitar Amp made for the guitarist Slash which somehow never got to him…it ended up in a Sam Ash store being sold as a used item and was on hold for another famous guitarist George Lynch, but through a store error the Amp is now part of My Band’s hit making machine.

I hear George Lynch was pissed big time.
