Jolly's Got A New Hobby

Re: Jolly's Got A New Hobby

What neck/board?

I think 3TSB would look killer w/ Maple.

What ideas are you floating around?
I bought a 12" radius maple neck with a maple fret board off of a guy that takes WD necks and messes with the frets and installs a graphtech nut on them.

Re: Jolly's Got A New Hobby

Once you get all these projects done you should do a graphic finish on a cheaper body. I would be more than happy to help you if you wanted.:drive:

Nice flame on that body. Personally I prefer to be rear routed when no pickguard is used.

For what it's worth, I'm going to play around with some dyes today and hopefully come up with a color somewhere along the lines of these.

Masked off and ready for a coat of nitrocellulose lacquer for the faux binding. Then I am going to stain the top. And yes, I am totally rednecking this. I've never done it before. Everything I am doing with this, and my Iceman guitars is all a trial and error learning experience.

Re: Jolly's Got A New Hobby

I apologize for the forthcoming bigass writing, but I just copied and pasted it from their page. This is a great feel ling neck. It's a little fatter than I am used to, but that's no big deal. I can play any neck and not really be worried about it. Other than it's fatness, everything else is right on par with what I dig. Also, I think I'm going to leave it as is. I'm not even going to finish it.

We have upgraded this neck:-
1. Leveled and dressed the frets.
2. Dressed the Fret Ends and Tangs.
3. Supply and install Graph Tech Nubone Tusq Nut

Re: Jolly's Got A New Hobby

1 part green, 2 parts blue, black sanded base.

The trick to prevent bleeding over the sides is to clearcoat the back and sides before staining the top.
