Jolly's New Heavy Riffage!!

JOLLY

Here's a little something I threw together today. I think it really sounds good. I listened to it on my studio monitors, old PC speakers, boombox, and cranked it thru my home theater and it sounded great. The guitars are really fat and thick in it. The main guitar riffage is my Gibson SG Junior with a single P-90 and the little lead filler is my Gibson Les Paul using the Jazz Neck Model. There's a few mistakes on the drums, but after 5 takes I was like "what the hell, that'll have to work". Like I say, it's just something I threw together, but I bet ya didn't think P-90's could sound like this.;) Hope ya dig it.

That's FLAT OUT EVIL!! :saeek: :saeek:

The riff and chorus are phenominal. I think you could push the lead guitar a touch higher but it is a nice mix. Leslie West made those P90s scream bloody murder so I believe anything is possible with them. My 56 LP jr is mojo rising for sure! Very nice, and the length is perfect.

OH MAN!!! Thats a p-90? You got great syle man! For something you just thrown together that is awesome. What kind of recording setup are you using? The Riff is really PUNCHY I love that stlye of riffing.

Re: Jolly's New Heavy Riffage!!

Thanks Kev. I really don't know if you could call that a chorus or not. All I had was that riff when I started and I just kinda went to that change outta nowhere as I was doing a rough track at first. I like the fullness of the chords in it however and it kinda has a weird vowel-esque sound to it as I slide down. I mixed it once with the lead filler thingy more up in the mix, but I thought it was a little overkill and took away from the main riff. I never think about using a phaser, I leave that up to the pros like you.

Who says line6 doesn't sound good?
LOL...That's why I always laugh when people say that Matt. They just don't take the time to tweak. Thanks Jeff and Skull.

You did that with a Line 6? SWEET!! Infact, that makes me feel even better about my plans for tomorrow. I'm gonna go and order a POD XT Live.............hope it sounds as good. :)

Re: Jolly's New Heavy Riffage!!

i just realized that was a line 6 product that helped make that thick sound...what one? wanna share the patch/settings if they will work for a pod XT?
