Junk-box Fender MIM Tuners?

In the process of converting my new MIM Tele to its new specs (see here), I discovered the A tuner's button was loose. Upon further inspection, I found the nylon washer is missing. I believe these tuners also have a a wavy spring-steel washer in there to hold tension, but the nylon one is gone.

Does anybody have a set of junked MIM modern-style tuners around, from which they can canibalize a nylon washer? I'm sure my local ACE doesn't carry them that small.

Nylon washer? I don't remember that being part of the MIM ohh....

I think I may have a tuner laying around. I'll check if any of them are in good shape.

Re: Junk-box Fender MIM Tuners?

Yup - there are supposed to be two tiny little washers between the tuner button and the main body. A white nylon one reduces friction and a black wavy spring steel one provides the tension against the adjusting screw (which also hold the button on the shaft). I'm missing the nylon one.

Just one of about a dozen niggling little problems with this guitar. It's no wonder the previous owner wasn't "bonding" with it.

Re: Junk-box Fender MIM Tuners?

You may be able to get that nylon washer at a hardware store... probably not home depot or ace, but a real contractor supply place... the kind of shop that would sell and rent stuff like 1" impact drills & bobcats. I have one nearby that stocks all kinds of tiny washers & bearings as daily maintenance items... they've bailed me out a few times.

Otherwise, if anyone has 1 or 2 tuners from a junk set I'll send washers to rich from MY junk tuners! I need at least one, if not two of those Fender tuners to replace one with slipping gears... was about to post a similar request myself! Sorry for bagging your thread...

No problem, Moose.

Doesn't anybody have a couple of spare Fender tuners for my man here?

Re: Junk-box Fender MIM Tuners?

I have those washers in stock, brand new.

PM if you'd like a price. They're not expensive.
