I just tried this on my Bassman and it worked wonders. It looks so much better now. Thanks for the tip Joe.

I'm glad it made your Bassman look better. Black shoe polish works like a charm. It nourishes the tolex, and turns every crevice pure black. All you have to do is wipe it off till there's no more black on the cloth. Then, it looks new.

Shoe polish is better than oily substances that attract even more dirt and stickiness over time.

why did you take off the tilt legs?
They are a really great idea for the working musician. They allow you to hear yourself clear as a bell, and also keep the crowd and FOH people happy.

I put them back on. I just took them off to shine them up and get the little rust spots off.

I have a 68 drip edge Super Reverb & Deluxe Reverb. They have both been recapped & retubed. Ive had the Super since the late 80's early 90's. I dont use it much anymore but I will never sell it. Great amp good luck with it....
