The guitar kit has just been delivered. Here is what it looks like.

Will the different colored wood appear if I use my planned cherry red lacquer paint?

I did an SG in the typical wine red you see all over the place.
Mine was made from a laminate of thin bits throughout the middle 5" with 2 wider wings either side. You can barely see this now.....so with a darker cherry you'd probably be ok.

Are you gonna stain the body, too?

It certainly looks like it needs staining. Perhaps.

That looks better than the stock photo. Have you thought about making the body bevels deeper? that would be cool..
