So far I really like it. Not sure what to expect being a humbucker and all but it is actually quite bright with a nice full body sound.
I have an American tele ('95 ish) poplar body (?) with maple neck.
I was waffling all over the place about which pickup to get. At first I was thinking some "more bright" - i.e., Broadcaster pickup but then after some helpful comments from an older thread I started to really think about what I wanted (thanks btw for the all the help).
I am/was a bit of a nob with respect to the technical details of the tele world (other than I love to play the guitar) so I was listening to the players that I like (Kevin Breit for example) and the audio samples on the duncan site.
The Hot lead stack seemed like a best of both worlds pickup. Its fairly bright with respect to the other hb's (5/6/6 b/m/t) and its clean sound was pretty bright on the audio sample. I have a push/pull pots (both 250K and 500k) that I am going to install to split the coil to twang it up a bit more (or so I think). On the neck I have the vintage stack which should work quite nicely with the hot stack. The pup has a different look to it which I kind of like.
There is not a lot of audio or videos out there with people playing the pickup. Maybe one day I'll get some recording with it done.
Just have to hone my soldering skills again (its been awhile though I use to solder the 0603 components back in the day) and get the push/pull pot in there.
Thanks Wymore for the excellent service in getting the pickup.
