Re: Just ordered an OCD....

Lee,
Like yourself, I've been watching the threads about the OCD for over a year or so and really made up my mind based on your review on the LP forum. I'm hoping to have it in my hands by this weekend. What other pedals have you a/b'd the OCD with other than the Landgraffs?
I've A/B'd the OCD with the following using the High Gain Mode on the OCD (9 Volts):
1. Fully Modded Keeley 808 (sounds COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - not nearly enough gain to get to Haynes territory).
2. XOTIC RC & AC BOOSTER (The RC is merely a clean boost - the AC doesn't sound much like the OCD; the OCD is more Analog sounding when you're using the pedal's gain, not the amp's).
3. Red Snapper (similar to the Keeley 808, but sounds much better and is much more flexible. It smokes with my Strat if you want the SRV vibe, but also works with Humbuckers, too!)
4. Klon (entirely different pedal and used differently, altogether).....you know that I use that for the Warren Haynes' setup (e.g. good/heavy crunch > Klon for solos).
5. Fulltone 10th Anniversary Mosfet (much different pedal, but I haven't had much time to play her)
6. Throbak StoneBender (not tried)
7. Throbak Overdrive (not tried)
8. Landgraff Custom 818 (his spin on the 808; one toggle setting sounds kind of close and has enough gain to get there, but it still sounds different)
9. Landgraff Fully Custom OD (the down position on the this 3 toggle pedal is one-of-a-kind to me; however, it does not like the EL34's on the Blockhead, which sucks. It LOVES the Fenders, though. I'd love to get a Super Reverb and use this with it. This position sounds fairly similar to the OCD, but doesn't clean up quite as well.
10. Keeley Compressor: Can easily be used as a distortion pedal if you turn up the level....holy crap! It has some serious output.
Overall Impression:
None of my existing pedals really have the overall tone and flexibility of the OCD. Ryan, with your Goldtop loaded Fillmore/Brobucker combo, you could leave the pedal on ALL THE TIME and just adjust the guitar's volume. That part of the pedal is pretty cool!!!
I hope you are impressed when it arrives - if you don't like it, remember that you can send back the pedal within 5 days of receipt. Just make sure to get a R/A from Customer Support and confirm that you're returning the pedal.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts and I'll talk to you soon!
Best,
Lee Moore
