Just ordered an OCD....

It's been a tough decision picking just one great od pedal, but am going to take a chance on an OCD. :banana: Can't wait to get it in my hands!

I have been putting off ordering an OCD for a while now simply because I can't plug into one here and try it out but Matt (Bada Bing) got one a few weeks ago and loves it, now you!

I might just have to take the plunge!

BTW, who here has tried the OCD at 18 volts? Is there a difference in tone and dynamics over 9 volts?

I almost bought the OCD instead of my Plexitone...My buddy Steve has an OCD....I Liked the overall tone I heard,but I also thought it was bit bright through his 2 amps....1 amp was an 18 watt DR Z and the other was a small Tweed Clark amp...Both were very small combo amps and that might explain it? I may buy one at sometime though anyway..

John, other than the brioght how was it over all? Does it retain a good bit of the amps natural tone?

I probably needed to try it through my own stuff and not Steve's amps..Can't really give a fair review based on that,but I liked the pedal and what I heard overall...

Is the OCD the flavor of the month? Notice how that happens? They cycle sometimes too if they're really good, like the same pedal two different months out of the year.

The last FOTM was the Plexitone. Or did the Duncan SFX-03 sneak in there somewhere?

I know I picked up a Mosfet FD anniversary edition a while back. Can't remember if it made FOTM status or not.

It's very few times I actually like one though. IRonically enough, the Fulltone and the SFX03 are still here. They don't usually last this long.

I got mine just over a year ago.

It's my most favorite overdrive pedal EVER. It nails the sounds I hear in my head and it's perfect for my needs. I wouldn't even consider getting another OD pedal at this point.

You will not be disappointed if you like crunchy, smooth, fat British flavored drive.

It was the flavor of the month over a year ago. I bought mine Feb '05. Been on my board since. I'm thinking of buying one of the newer models with the 500k volume pots. I hear they have a little more girth to 'em. I really like the OCD. For the price it's hard to beat.

Exactly. It is not a "NEW" Flavor of the Month by any means. I recently bought one because of all the consistent talk about it for the last 12 months.

My Review: I love it. It sounds (for the most part) better than both my Landgraffs and nearly every other low/high gain distortion pedal I have. I still have some other OD's to try, but this one is pretty sweet since it can go from low to very high gain while maintaining perfect clarity as you roll down your volume controls. You could leave it on all the time and not even notice.

In a nutshell, it just seems like the perfect OD pedal.

I just bought 2 OCD's this week just need to wait for them to come in, I had one of the OCD's from the very first batch when they first were released and liked it quite a bit but GAS got the best of me.

Since then I tried one of the upgraded OCD's and was not as good to my ears as the original, so I tracked down a couple of the used older OCD's
and bought them one for full time use and one as a back up!

Also the OCD stack very nicely when goosed with a lower gain drive I use a FD-2 Mosfet edition which will mate up nicely with the OCD!

All that was changed as far as I know is the Volume pot it went from 100k to 500k, people wanted more mids and a little less bass so to please the majority Mike Fuller made the change permanent.

Hmm... i wasn't aware that there was a newer version. I've got a fairly low serial number on mine ( #1079) and its one of the older ones so does that mean it'll be collectible in years to come? It would'nt matter anyways as I'm never selling this thing. I like mine just the way it is.

The inside of the circuit board IS gooped up with insulation glue to prevent people from copying the circuit easily. You'd have to destroy the pedal to see what's in there.
