If you can solder tidily you can do it if you take your time and do your research.

If you want to do one i would happilly guide you through it.

I can solder pretty well. I'm a neat freak when it comes to soldering/wiring guitars so that shouldn't be an issue. I may have to take you up on that once I recoup some funds from my last spending spree.

Just a small update here. All of the caps have been installed.


Next up the graphic EQ once the slide pots come in.

Where did you get the board(s) from.?

If only i had access to a wave solder machine. It would save so much time.

I do actually have some PCB layouts for the MKII but i noticed that there was a sale on at ampclones for the chassis & PCB which would work out significantly cheaper and quicker so i just went with that.

Just a small update. The headshell has been tolexed. Now for the grill and to decide whether to add silver piping or not....

Annoyingly i'm now on long shifts at work so i'll only get a chance to work on it on sundays from here on out. Hopefully it will be done for christmas

Well i was all ready to get cracking with this only to find my stock of 5mm spacers & M3 screws is exhausted

Time to wait for the mailman!

You've got some great skill to be building a Mesa! The MKIIC+ model is hard to find at any price. That's the most adventurous amp build I've seen on here.

It's a great learning experience too, because if you can wrap your head around the inner workings of a Mesa, you could be one of a few people over there qualified to service them.
