Just Scored a Killer Tele on Ebay!

I've been watching a few Teles on Ebay for the past few days, waiting for a deal. Anyway, I just hit ending first, to see what was up for grabs and what do I find? A $1300 G&L Z-3 for less than half that. There was 1 minute left on the auction when I saw it, and I made a split second decision in 10 seconds. I threw in my number, and 10 seconds later, I see that I sniped it.
If I ever get sick of the color, I can just sell it for more than I paid.
Can't wait to have it in my hot hands! My heart's still beating!

Nice score Jonsey.....if you don't have room to store that with all of your other gear, send me that Bogner 1/2 stack and I'll look after it for you for a while.

I really like the Tele also by the way. Those G&l's are something else.

Tell us what'cha think of those z-coils, 'cuz I've been wondering about 'em since I saw in an add in a Guitar World like two years ago. Wouldn't mind havin a Strat equipped with those...

I was watching that one too. Congrats! Looks cool. I wanted one with more conventional pickups tho...aren't to many Duncans going to fit in that one! Have fun!

Haha, I knew I'd wear you down!. About three months by my counting. I should have made a bet with some of the forumites. Mind you, who's going to bet against you buying more gear?

That's one very cool guitar, and one ****-hot deal. Love the silver sparkle. Now all you need is matching strippers on poles stage left and right...

teles are insidious. I went from not knowing what on earth to do with one to playing one as my main guitar over a few months. Damn thing snuck up on me. Nowadays, if there's one guitar that I'd like to collect a good example of every model, it's the humble Telecaster. I've made a lot of jokes about the 'real man's guitar' thing, but it's true: play one for a while, especially fingerstyle, and the nuance and tonal shades you will be able to bring out will amaze you.

Let us know what you think of the z3's. Set up a plexi sound on the Bogner and have at it! No prisoners!

Great score Gearjoneser - look forward to getting the full review when it gets in your lap. I guess when we see you play it we would all need to put our shades on otherwise we would be dazzled or go blind!! If you do get sick of the guitar I can make you an offer to take it off your hands but you'll have to change the colour - does not go with my present stage gear.

Ha Ha Ha. :laugh2: I've had a couple Tele's before but never bonded with them because one was an icepick ash Tele, and the other was a 2 hum Tele,
which isn't really a tele. Now, between your snide remarks about my lack of a Tele :blackeye: and Curly, who sends me 4 pics of a G&L Tele everyday....
Yes, I've been worn down to my lowest point! Just when I promised myself
I wouldn't spend anymore money on gear, I've broken down.
I spotted that Tele 4 days ago, but stopped watching it till I accidentally ran into it again....1 minute before closing. At $615, I didn't even have control over my "last second proxy finger." All I know is there's some pretty pissed off bidders on that list of 20 bids. :yell: That Z-3 through the Chieftain
is going to be fat twangy sickness! I can taste it already. :32:

What do you guys think. Keep the stock white pickguard or get a solid black
G&L Tele guard? White or black?

Keep it stock, those are pretty nice guitars. There actually was a sig model like that for one of the Hellecasters for a short while. I thought it was JJ but maybe not?

Good deal, I wouldn't expect to sell it for a whole lot more down the road most G&L's have only fair resale at best but a cool guitar at a great price nonetheless. Enjoy, the more sparkly guitars the better IMO.
