young angus, what that is is just the strings put through the front of the tailpeice instead of the back. its all standard hardware, zakk wylde does this with his les pauls, correct me if i'm wrong but i think he said it gives a little more sustain. I tried it once and i could not tell a difference. some people also do it if they have high action and the don't want to highten the tailpeice(slight loss in sustain) so they wrap it around the tailpeice so that the strings don't come in contact with the frame of the bridge before they trouch the saddles.
