hi there, i have been looking around for baseamps the last couple of days and its just to many of them! could need a bit of advice please.
i'm playing in a band and we do acoustic music so would like to get a good amp.. no special effects just a clean and powerful nice sound. not too expensive and not too cheap, something like $900
would b grateful if anyone out there could give me some advice in the bassamp jungle!
thanks

I just picked up a used Ashdown MAG 300H and it is perfect. Great prices as well.

they have a real natural tone to em, not grainy like GK. Of course you can get some grind if you want it, but, eh

you get 5 band EQ, bright switch, deep switch, a sub-harmonizer, and a switch that makes the EQ active instead of passive. And they're cheap. What more could you want?

only bad part is the FX loop is on the front

Re: just wanna buy a good bassamp

are you using an electric bass or acoustic?

if you are using an acoustic i would spend a buck and a half of that on a good preamp. i use a lr baggs para-acoustic di but im sure the dtar equinox would work well too. take the rest and get an amp that is very loud and clean with full frequency responce.

if you play electric then i would say something like an ampeg br100 would work well and sound great with acoustic guitars. for most roots music that amp works great live. swr makes some nice stuff as well but since fender bought them their new designs havent flipped my skirt

Fender 300 (all tube head) or a Trace elliot AH350 or Ampeg SVT I like them all, and Eden cabnits
