another good idea is to get 3 flatwound single strings and the 12 pack bulk packs for the EBG strings. Flatwounds tend to last almost as long as bass strings-say 4-5+ months of vigorous playing. I just ordered 3 bulk packs of egb strings and DR Legend flatwounds for EAD strings-total for 12 packs worth of strings w/shipping- 17 bucks!!!
