Hey guys.
Just checking to see how you guys like your Keeley TS9 Mod Plus. How does it compare to the stock version, and is there anything you don't like about it? Is the added low end noticeable compared to the stock version?

Thanks!

Re: Keeley TS9 owners?

I think most of the guys here are using Stratdeluxer to mod the TS9. I know I did. Can't speak for the Keely..... I never used one, but i have a TS9 that John modded for me, and I have a TS9 RI. The modded TS9 has more bottom, more gain and a more natural sound to it. I use mine in a '67 Deluxe Reverb primarily to increase sustain and a slight volume boost. Comparing it to the TS9 RI it has a throatier tone to it..... It sounds like the Amp turned up real loud. John has a great ear for tone. PM him and talk with him about doing a Mod for you..... It is well worth it.

Re: Keeley TS9 owners?

I have a Keeley Modded TS-808 and it is as advertised. More bass, higher fidelity sound. Less coloration to the tone. Sounds good. I use this for a basic overdrive and rythm tones. For solo boosts I kick in an Analog Man
TS-9 in addition to the TS-808. The TS-9 has the classic tubescreamer mid spike.

Re: Keeley TS9 owners?

Send me your TS9s,save a buck or two,and keep the mods within our forum family when possible! ;o)

Do what the man said...and you'll be happy!!!

I'll tell you this, I sent John a Boss DS-1, which IMO is simply a piece of **** pedal...now after John got done with it kicks ass...I could only imagine what he could do if he started off with a good pedal!!!

BUMP!

John not only does great work with fast turnaround, but his mods are top shelf and he's more than reasonable as far as price. I'm using his modded TS9 and I'm totally impressed with it. Excellent sustain and great bottom end.

BTW, Johns a hell of a nice guy too, so +1 for keeping it in the family! You won't be disappointed.

Wow! Funny seeing my name popping up again? Well...I appreciate the posts from all of you,and Matt,I have the same thing to say about you also...

The pedal mods have slowed down a bit lately so send me a few pedals to mod for some beer money...Prices are still the best in the world and the quality hasn't and will not change!

Thanks again brothers of the forums!

Re: Keeley TS9 owners?

Hehe just modded our POS TS-10 here tonight, removed a few bits, and replaced even more bits, even threw in a JRC4558 OP-amp.
Made it assymetrical just for fun, have to collect a few more spareparts on monday at work, I was woefully low on parts here at home.

The TS series is still one of my favs.I've been using a TS9 and other TSs since the early 80s. A modded one is just icing on the cake,as I get lots of mileage from these babies..

Re: Keeley TS9 owners?

Well for once I have a TS-style pedal that I like, good clarity with a good healthy non muddy midrange, quite woody now.
I'll make that last changes later on monday, hehe I have a Tubescreamer that I actually like, must go and mark my calender now;)

Actually I don't have a TS9. That's why I was going to buy a brand new modded Keeley. I do have an old TS5 Soundtank though. Do you mod those? If so, what do you do, and what is the price?

Thanks!

I never post mod prices on the forums(Because they're too low)...Yes I mod the TS5..

That Keeley TS9 is going to set you back a bit... :smack:
