Keith Urban's amp...

I was watching a replay of the CMT awards last night on Palladia HD and near the end Keith Urban joined up with someone that slipped my mind, but what didn't slip my mind was his amp/cab...

This is a video capture from an AOL video where he's using a black strat too... Interesting.

You gotta see his whole rig from right now...he's cop a DG rig pretty well...including quite a bit of Cornish gear!

Sweet. He's got to be one of the bigger gear whore artists around, I was searching for pics of the Hiwatt/WEM before I did the video capture and I came across more variety of gear than I've ever seen for any artist.

You know, I like his tone and playing, but his songs I can do without. I understand he's marketed directly to the female audience, if his marketing was a little more 50/50 I bet I'd like him more.

So... how difficult/rare is it to find a WEM with Fanes in good condition?

Dunno got catchy stuff, very wellcrafted, and some extremely nice guitarlines along the road

Very...Keith bought more than one of them (4 I think...) but his are a limited edition reissue deal of which they only make something crazy like 100 pieces...

Those Fanes are a tad different than the Fanes from say a HiWatt cab...Ted Weber is doing some of the WEM style Fanes right now but I've not tried them. I have a matched quad of Hiwatt Fanes form 1972 and those are a force for sure...just wish I had a HiWatt, Sound City or WEM cab to put them but no luck yet!

From his official site, here is some of the main stuff that he is using now. He went from playing pretty much everything with a Tele and a LP Jr through Marshalls and/or Bad Cats a few years ago to playing with and through everything under the sun.

He was the firs concert I ever saw, even though I don't really dig contemporary country music much he did a great show. Sick guitar player.
