(kind of) NGD and picture of the family!

I think by now I have a pretty cool collection. I play for about 2 and a half years now and always had a huge GAS. In this little time I played I had 3 more guitars than in this picture, most of them got sold/traded for something else. I regret some, but I'm glad I ended up here. The NGD is the guitar on the right, its a Chibson I picked up for $10 through our equivalent of craigslist (I mean how bad can it be?). Gave her a good clean and resodered the electronics to make it work again. Its an absolute mess, the 3-Way switch is missing at the "normal" position and the pickup in the bridge isn't even a genuine EMG, just a copy .... keeping up with the chinese knock-offs I suppose. It plays surprisingly well and sounds okay, the pickup is quite horrendous, not sure if it gets ever replaced, the guitar isnt worth much and I don't care if it gets banged up or anything. The other ones are an Ibanez GRGR121-EX (I believe, not really sure) and a Jackson Dinky JS-22.

Big thanks to all in this forum who have helped me over the years, making my **** work. As you see the trend is towards pretty cheap guitars and each of them is quite heavily modded - some very nice, some pretty bad... but that's what I enjoy pretty much as much as playing, modding the crap out of them. Curious what the family will look in a couple of years from now. (thought of for once getting an actual guitar for about 1k or even more, to have something "proper"....... although I only have solid state amps so far... I should probably invest in something with tubes)

Did you say $10 and is ten dollars? Or was there another zero on the end like $100? ;)

Love the Jackson JS guitars!

It was literally 10 bucks! and the guy wasn't living to far from here so I though, **** it, another project sounds like fun! he basically wanted to throw it away if no one would pick it up in two days. He tried to mod it himself before and it did not went too well, the cover on the back is missing, the pickup switch is superglued in (probably not going out anytime), the real switch is non existent and it got quite a few bangs and bruises all over, but it was a fun project and its a guitar that I dont care much if something breaks.

the JS series is amazing, great value!

Dude that is a crazy deal! A pack of my strings cost more than that! lol For $10 bucks you can mod or alter as you like and no harm is done!

I totally agree on the JS series guitars–picked up a couple at Guitar Center and was pleasantly surprised by the price tag for how they play and sound.

thanks! It does setup very nicely with nice and low action on the 10's I use..... and the frets are just a little worn. did I mention that I 3D printed a trussrodcover? yeah buddy!
I visited a friend in switzerland that got a 3D printer so naturally I wanted to print something... what? well that cover was the first thing that came to my mind. It's not the right size or anything, but its a start and just roughly modeled, maybe I should get more into it? now he only had orange or white fillament so I opted for the white and spray painted it black. I think its neat, adds on a personal level. maybe a logo printed on it would make it even more unique.

here's a pic of the test fit:
