Mr. Klein worked many, many hours to replicate the sound of John Mayer's Stratocatser that he calls "The Black One". These Jazzy Cat pickups have a wonderful and unique sound. To my knowledge he is the only maker besides Fender who has labored to reproduce Mayer's coveted sound and Fender doesn't sell the pickups alone. Klein is so proud and secretive about his accomplishment that he doesn't even post ohmages for these fine pickups, but to my ear they have a vintage sound.
