Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

And that's about all I have to say about that.

Know what my least favorite headstock is? Epiphone. That's what.

*sigh* :)

You two need to go out right now and play yourself a Duo Jet or 6120 or even an Electromatic Corvette, right now! You'll never go back to normal guitars.

PRS Santana II of one of those odd BC Rich that mix a strat and an LP:

As much as I like the looks, sound and feel of any of those, they´re not for me I think. I like a guitar with a heavier/fatter sound. More metal and blues.

Re: Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

I played an Electromatic Corvette once and it was completely and utterly dead unplugged. It actually felt surprisingly nice (I thought it looks kind of clunky and awkward) but just with any guitar in that price range you'll see a wide range in the resonance of the wood.

+1 to Epiphone headstocks being some of the ugliest headstocks available.

Completely forgot I was talking to you Dave! :smack:! Well I was telling the Swede to play one. I knew you had one all along! :)

ibanez, it's a crapshoot. I think across the board, the Corvettes are far more reliable than any other guitars in that price range but they're not immune to being dead. But as with any guitars made over there, it's really up in the air.

I don't like the truss rod covers, at all, but Jackson does have nice headstocks. And inlays.

I actually had the red truss cover made custom. It looks better on the real guitar, rather than a close up photo. Not so obtrusive and goes with the other red parts on the guitar.

Re: Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

No not yours, I like the style of that red one fine and it looks cool. No offense meant on that at all.

I meant I don't like the general shape of the Jackson truss rod cover.

Calm down, I wasn't taking offence! ;) I never actually thought about the shape of the truss cover on the Jacksons. I suppose it just kinda fits the "pointy" thing Jacksons have. A "bell" type, as in Gibby or Epi just wouldn't look right.
I don't even want to think about this, as it might make me want to change my Jacksons again! :drill:

Re: Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

My favorite TRC is the "Bullet" that Gretsch uses. Go check it out up there, I'll wait...

*waiting*

Back? It's awesome isn't it!? Yep!

Re: Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

Oooh no, I like pointy, or at least not too round.

Re: Know what my favorite headstock is? Gretsch. That's what.

Gretsch and gibson are tied in my mind.

The parker fly headstock is horrible.
