Koch Loadbox 120-ll/8

How much does such an attenuator actually attenuate your amp? I'm not able to ue my Marshall and Laney as is, but I think that with an attenuator I might be able to use them at home?? Can it bring the volume down enough? How is the quality of this Koch attenuator? Would it be wiser just to buy a smaller amp?

I need your inputs, this is about life or death guys!

Attenuators are more for bringing loud amps down to a reasonable stage volume for smaller venues than for using them in your living room. If you pull the volume down to bedroom levels you'll still get some heavy signal coloration.

So I would be better off with a smaller amp for that purpose?
